pier-1A ‘pier’, in architecture, is an upright support for a structure or superstructure such as an arch or bridge. Sections of structural walls between openings can function as piers. Any support element can be referred as piers, as explained above, even openings. The importance of PIER as an architectural element is equal as the foundation. Arches and bridges need piers to rely difference from other structures. Pier is the process.
